Irrigation Back-flow valves Inspection

Chris Jones was out again this year to test and verify the communities six irrigation back-flow valves.  Chris is certified by the City of Irving to do this mandatory annual testing.

In water supply systems, when pressure fails or is reduced, as may happen if a water main bursts, pipes freeze or there is unexpectedly high demand on the water system, then the loss of pressure in the pipes may allow contaminated water from the ground, from storage or from other sources to be drawn up into the system and then dispensed into homes.

To prevent contamination due to back pressure, the City of Irving requires mechanical backflow prevention assembly for each of the six irrigation water meters. This is the 4th year we have done these inspections.
