Twenty-eight trees were “full height" pruned this week. Trimming was conducted as high a 30 ft from the ground.
Six trees were shaped as specimen trees (click on photo). Six Yaupon Holly trees at the entry were topped to bring them all to the same height. The large Red Oaks at 2001 and 2015 Wilshire were thinned to provide more light to the turf. Fourteen other trees were trimmed away from roof lines and or had broken branches from the storm removed or the breaks "cut clean". One tree (1618) was removed at the owners expense.
A large amount of plant material was removed. Doing this during the dormant period minimized the sap loss and subsequent stress to the tree. It also minimized the risk of fungus infection or insect infestation as both fungi and insects are in dormancy too.
Thanks to everyone for putting in their work orders early and waiting for the work to be done in a large, cost effective batch.
